United Way of Mesa County holds a few special events a year. We also benefit from several special events put on by other organizations. Thank you to all of our partners for going great lengths to raise money for United Way of Mesa County!
United Way of Mesa County Events:
Pacesetters are made up of about 25 local businesses and organizations who are long-time United Way supporters. These businesses generally contribute a third to the overall campaign. We start off campaign season by inviting them to ignite their individual campaigns for the year. The employees work hard to make a dent in the goal before the Community Kickoff to set an example for the rest of Mesa County. Employees at these businesses and organizations pledged more than $362,713 for the 2015-16 campaign! This event usually takes place in early August and is by invitation-only.
After the Pacesetters complete their initial campaigns, we invite them back out to the Campaign Kickoff. United Way of Mesa County staff reveals the number pledged so far. It’s a fun event that both thanks Pacesetters and works to invigorate the rest of Mesa County. Every year, the event moves to different locations around the Grand Valley. It’s usually held toward the end of September.
Home Loan Taste of the Grand Valley
This is our signature annual event! It showcases local restaurants, caterers, and specialty food products. “Taste” takes place every year in early February at Two Rivers Convention Center. Please click here for more information!
At the end of the campaign, we announce how much was raised by community members. It’s a celebratory event held at various locations in Mesa County. We take the time to recognize champions for United Way of Mesa County and hand out special awards. This event usually takes place around the end of February.
