Volunteer Opportunities with United Way of Mesa County
At United Way of Mesa County there’s room for everyone. Like to plan parties? You might enjoy the Home Loan Taste of the Grand Valley planning committee. Don’t have a lot of time? Consider volunteering in the office or joining us for a couple hours at a special event. Want to make the connection between dollars raised and real change in someone’s life? Become a member of an Allocation Panel. These are just a few of the meaningful volunteer opportunities found at United Way of Mesa County.
As a member of one of the nine panels, you will be trained to read and understand a grant application, evaluate a program’s effectiveness, efficiency, and ability to deliver results, make site visits as a group to see the program in action and talk with staff and clients, and ultimately make funding recommendations to the United Way Board of Directors. If you are interested in this unique volunteer opportunity, contact Abby Landmeier.
The Campaign Team serves as the steering committee for the campaign; you provide support to the United Way staff. You will provide industry insight and be the eyes and ears in the community. You will provide leadership from which our campaign will draw its strength. You provide energy for the campaign while you help serve as an example to your peers. For more information about joining the campaign team, contact Lindy Hodges.
Planning Committee for Home Loan Taste of the Grand Valley:
This group begins meeting regularly at the end of summer to plan and produce this annual signature event – a family food festival featuring dozens of booths at Two Rivers Convention Center. It typically raises more than $20,000 annually for UWMC. As a committee member, you will help identify sponsors and exhibitors, develop marketing ideas and help shape this fun annual event. Contact Honora Thompson for more information.
