
By providing affordable access to medical, dental and mental healthcare and substance abuse treatment services and providing education and outreach to support healthy lifestyles and minimize risky behaviors, United Way of Mesa County promotes health in our community by funding the following programs in the 2011-12 funding year:
Counseling and Education Center (243-9539) provides affordable counseling for low-income/uninsured individuals and families.
Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado (241-2212) Child & Teen Center and Grief Center- provides supportive individual and group counseling to children, teens, adults and families adjusting to the diagnosis of a life-threatening illness and/or death of a loved one. Transitions Patient Care- provides care coordination and services to patients with serious illness who are ineligible for traditional home-health or hospice care.
Marillac Clinic (255-1782) provides integrated medical and dental and services to low-income residents of Mesa County who are working to restore and maintain their health.
The Salvation Army (242-7513) Adult Rehabilitation Program-offers a 6-month intensive and highly structured residential treatment program for men and women with severe life problems resulting from alcohol/drug abuse.
Western Colorado AIDS Project (WestCAP) (243-2437) Harm Reduction Program-delivers a series of health promotion and disease prevention programs targeted to at-risk adolescents.
