Statewide Children’s Book Drive Begins in April
Mesa County, Colo. — During the month of April, United Way of Mesa County, EPIC (Executives Partnering to Invest in Children) and local businesses are partnering to run a local book drive for children’s books. People may drop new and used books off at more than 16 locations across the valley from April 2nd – April 30th. Once the donation period is over, United Way will collect and distribute the books to local children. The giveaway will take place Saturday, May 19th from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Mesa Mall’s Clock Court. It’s open to all children.
The following locations will collect books through the end of April:
Mesa Co. Depart. of Human Services
Rocky Mountain Health Plans
United Way of Mesa County
Children’s books, when paired with positive adult-child interactions, provide a critical foundation for healthy early childhood development. Last year, United Way of Mesa County distributed over 3,000 donated books to local children.
Colorado Business Reads is a signature initiative of EPIC. A membership-based organization of top executives, EPIC promotes early childhood care, education, health and parenting as the highest priority for public and private investment in Colorado. Since 2013, EPIC has collected and distributed nearly 500,000 books to children and families in Colorado.
