United Way of Mesa County is excited to announce that we will be accepting applications for grant funding between November 1 and December 15, 2021. United Way dollars support programs that address human service needs in Mesa County in the areas of health, education, and self-reliance. In order for an organization to be eligible to receive funding they must meet the following criteria:
· Tax-exempt status under IRS 501(c)(3) and incorporated as a nonprofit since November 1, 2019
· Written bylaws which describe the agency structure, mission, and operations
· Policy of non-discrimination in compliance with all state and federal laws that is applicable to person served, staff employment, volunteers, and membership on its governing board
· Annual audit, review, or compilation conforming to Generally Accepted Auditing Principles
A diverse group of local volunteers will form Allocation Panels next spring which will review program applications and financial information, visit the program site and make funding recommendations to the United Way of Mesa County Board of Directors for approval. Grant funding for this cycle will begin in July 2022 and will last for two years.
