Airplane Tow ‘N’ Throw

Are you ready? United Way of Mesa County and the Greater Grand Junction Sports Commission announce the first annual Airplane Tow ‘N’ Throw at Grand Junction Regional Airport on October 2, 2021! Presented by Alpine Bank.

What: Teams of up to 20 people (minimum of 10) will test their strength to see who can “tow” a 100-ton Boeing 757 twenty feet across the tarmac the fastest. Teams will be divided into three different divisions: (1) Open Division – companies and local businesses; (2) Hometown Heroes Division – law enforcement officers, firefighters, and hospital workers; and (3) Powerhouse Division -gyms, fitness clubs or CrossFit teams, and groups that want to compete for the recognition as strongest in the Valley.

When: October 2, 2021 starting at 8:30 a.m. Team pull times will be scheduled and emailed to team leads a minimum of 1 week prior to the event. Spectators are welcome at any time, free admission.
